Naomi Watts

Watts (born 28 September 1968) is a British actress from the UK. Her family
relocated to Australia and she made her debut in film with the drama For Love
Alone (1986) after which she appeared in three shows on television, Hey Dad..
(1990), Brides of Christ (1991) as well as Home and Away (1991) and in the film
Flirting (1991). Watts was a failed actor when she first arrived in the United
States. She acted in films with a small budget and then became an actress. Her
fame grew internationally with this part. Watts played the role of an
unmotivated journalist in The Ring, a horror film remake. In her role as a
grieving mother in the Alejandro film 21 Grams, she was nominated to win the
Academy Award for Best Actress. Her fame grew by playing starring parts in I
Heart Huckabees (2004), King Kong (2005), Eastern Promises (2007) as well as
The International (2009). For her performance as Maria Bennett in the disaster
film The Impossible (2012), Watts received another Academy Award nomination for
Best Actress. She appeared in films, like Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) and
While We're Young (2015). Watts was also a regular actor in blockbusters and
appeared in the Divergent franchise (2015-2016).
